Is there any software to increase volume in divx movies? I'm running it from my laptop and already set windows settings and player settings to highest. tia

Without external speakers, or a better grade sound card, I don't think so. I have my system settings maxed out, but have volume controls on my speakers, so that I can fine tune. After I installed my Soundblaster, I had to readjust the speaker volume, for fear of being blown out of my chair...

Try look for your codec-volume options. I had a backup Divx movie and the sound was just terrible - speech was low and sound-effects were too loud. I finally found a little volume control panel on my codec properties and adjusted it to "Loud". Note, this is a volume panel for the audio codec the movie was coded with, seperate from your regular volume-control and speaker options and seperate from your Divx codec options. All movies use a specific audio codec. IIRC mine was AC3 Filter or something. Use a program like "Gspot"(a codec identifier) to find out the audio codec.

Actually I found a way that worked.
