Hey, I've got a few questions about Shadowkeeper. Firstly, what exactly does it do? Can I 'explore' some finer points of the game with it, such as specific spells (since I've heard that there are multiple versions of some spells)? Will it harm my game in any way? I have no intention of editing saved games or characters with it, so I mean will it hurt my game just by installing it. How exactly does it work? And where can I get it, should I decide I would like it?
Oh, and are there any alternatives that may be bettter? thanks

Shadowkeeper won't interfer with your BG games unless you CHOOSE to mess with them. Specific spell are ones like Irenicus has (instant kill, no save). If you aren't using it to edit stuff, you can view your global variables etc. you can download it from Shadowkeeper

Thanks. Anything else I should know about before I go ahead with it?

Don't hack your guys with illegal stuff ;) It's a pretty simple program, just read the instructions and you can't screw anything up.

Exactly. Don't try to equip a two-handed sword and a shield at the same time, etc.

Actually, SK *does* let you do that- and both work properly; you just can`t take one off then put it back on ingame.

shadowkeeper also allows you to equip illegal magical item combinations, which work ingame but can't be requipped if you unequip them. (such as two rings of protection, or a both a ring and an amulet of protection)

I mostly use Shadowkeeper to give my characters spiffy colours or to alter mistakes (such as giving Jan a proficiency in scimitars because I thought Dakkon's Zerth Blade was a wakasashi).

I also use Shadowkeeper to give my characters custom portraits since doing so in-game gets kinda unwieldy when you have 500+ images in your portraits folder.
