I am really getting sick of people blaming video games to the suicides of their children, or because something did this... you name it. They have every reason to blame everyone else but themselves... What do you think?

I'm sick of hearing those comments. I mean it's just sick. The reason may not be the game but maybe a person is missing a couple of things in his head. It can be his fault or his parents' fault. Or nothing of that. Maybe he's just a bit loony.

Personally, I'm getting sick of how every time someone says they tried to do something they saw on TV or in a video game, the whole gaming community starts yelling and whining that they are blaming everything on video games.

Yeah, something happen. Video Games are blamed. Another thing happen. Video games are blamed again. Why can't people find out the real reason instead of conveniently poiting finger at video games? Some even go further to have video games be banned. gr...

People are responsible for their own actons. Nonetheless, games like GTA contains, in my very humble opinion, tasteless amount of violence. Violence such games appears more to be an end by themselves rather than a means to an end.

No doubt this has an effect on the little hormone-filled brains of teenage boys; the usual suspect of "videogame-inspired" violence.

Video games will have some minor affects on how we view the world, and how we perceive violent actions. However, we are all responsible for our own actions.

In regards to parents blaming video games for the problems with their children?
1. Who bought their child the game.
2. Assuming the child had the money for their own spending where was the parent when there kid was playing this game?
3. When are parents going to start owning up to their own mistakes? I mean come on, they're either blaming games, the media, or the school systems, when all they do is cook and pay rent as far as their kids are concerned.

***!!! DISCLAIMER !!!***
The above statement is not all-inclusive of parents everywhere. There are good parents out there. I am not bashing all parents. Just the ones who want to blame all their problems on everything but their own actions.

I've been playing computer games since i was little, and I have never comitted suicide (obviously) or killed anyone.

I used to be the same, getting mad at everyone that blamed a video game for everything, but when you look at it from different perspective you can see that allot of us are fairly ignorant of the fact that there is the possibility that video games affect people in different ways, sure, most of us can tell the difference between right and wrong, but no two people work the same way, and it can always have a different affect of someone.
Now I'm not saying that video games are the blame for anything, but I as I’m sure many of you have taken something from a video game into real life, even if its just something like re-enacting a cool fight scene or move from a game or something like that, so who is to say that there are not any people who just take that a little too far?

If I don't make sense sorry, I’m really tired

People need to take responsibility for their own actions, simple enough.

But, as much as they talk about taking lives, what about the positive side effects that save them? I read an article awhile back that said surgeons perform even better while their patients are under the knife if they play games at least 3 times a week.

Its not videogames fault that its fun to kill people
