Pretty self-explanatory, inspired by the "Should they legalise..."

Plus, how much does anyone know about safe-sex? I just realized I don't know much myself. Let's try to keep this PG-13...for the rules of course.

Poll fixed as the first question is misleading.

How does one 'teach' abstinence?

Abstinence is a choice by the individual, while safe sex is general good-to-know info regarding sex. There's nothing wrong, on the other hand, to point out that some people choose abstinence for personal/religious reasons.

You're right. They don't teach abstinence, they preach it. And schools are no place for preaching.
That was easy. Give me another one.

Ok, so I should have used the word Preach ;)

First of all, I'm believe in abstinence, I will not have sex until I'm sure I've found the right person.

But I'm for free will. Give people tools (sex ed), but don' tell the how to act (abstinence propaganda).

If any of my schools had promoted abstinence, I would have gone and had sex with the first willing person as a protestation for them trying to influence my judgement.

I had friends who did that!

Ah human nature...ain't it great. If I had a nickle for all the things I did as a teen that I was told "don't do" I could maybe retire now at 30. Okay I exagerate.

Abstinence is certainly the most effective method of birth control and avoiding STDs, but people just tend not to enjoy it all that much ;) By all means teach both abstinence and safe sex. Those who wish to abstain, do so. Yet those who won't abstain, do so safely... please... for the good of humanity ;)
