Inspired by my recent Xmas gift (yeah go me :D ) I was wondering how many IW members own and use a mobile phone.

I got 4, but i only use one at the moment. Except half the time the text in the display doesn't show, damn Nokia garbage. :D I still have a brand new Ericsson though, but that will only accept prepaid cards from Vodafone, and right now i'm using another company, so i either have to get another phone, or another prepay package. It's not on my priority list though.

You realise you can get your phone unlocked, right johnny?

Yeah i know, but the last time i had a phone unlocked it cost me 100 Guilders, that's just about as much as a new prepay package would cost me. Not much difference there.

I own a cell phone, got it as a gift not too long ago. Color camera phone, although I barely use the camera part ;) .

I have a mobile, but it is truly one of those 'emergency use only' phones. I only use it to call home if I'm going to be late and such, or if I have car trouble. My friends don't have the number (I don't even know it :D ) - even if they did it would be useless to them since I don't keep it on to receive calls and I disabled the messaging. It's partly because I simply don't need or want to be available at all times to be contacted. If people want to talk to me they can call my house and if I'm not there I'll call them back. I was out the other night with some friends and they were seriously checking their phones every few minutes for messages - I don't need that! And parly because, having no income, I couldn't possibly expect my parents to pay for something so frivolous as a mobile phone bill of all my personal calls ;)

Well, here we do. I think because it's one of the most stolen objects nowadays. They'll snatch it right out of your hands while your on the phone if you don't pay attention.

I don't have one. I don't want to be available everywhere anytime.

you can always turn it off if u dont want to be available.
