man it really making me mad!!! when ever i try to kill kangaxx he use imprisonment and then BAM!! im toast, any one would be willing to help!?!?

Kangaxx is easy meat - just cast a scroll of protection from magic on your lead tank and pound him back to gravedust.

Or cast a scroll of protection from undead on your party *after he transforms to demi-lich* and pound him back to gravedust.

Or cast spell immunity : abjuration and pound him back to gravedust.

Here's another tip: if you have a beserker in your party have them use there beserker skill this makes them imune to imprisonment. It would be a good idea to pick up Korgan for this fight and equip him with the +1War hammer +4 against giantkin found in D'Arnise keep. This can damage the lich. One thing not mentioned in the previous post by Andrewas is that you need +4 weapons to hurt him bear this in mind before you try and take him on.

Also, if you have Korgan in your party, his Enrage ability makes him immune to the Imprisonment spell. Just be sure to have a weapon that can hurt Kangaxx, which I *think* needs to be a blunt item such as a War Hammer. On this point I am not sure, but I always used Crom Faeyr on him at that worked nicely. It may just need to be a magical item of over +2... maybe some of the more experience players can help ya with that. But the Enrage DOES make him invincible to Imprisonment.

To slow Mr Flibble ;)

50 Ways to Kill Your Kangaxx

Tyranny]SiN[ 09-13-2002 06:29 PM

I killed him with imoen. I cast globe of invun. (higher level one) and spell trap, and spell defelction she was only a 17th level mage. I took him out with the spell Black blade of disaster.

I was soloing with her. crom faer didn't scratch him, neither did the equilizer. either that or i couldn't hit him heh heh before i was imprisoned. its a good thing i bought some freedon scrolls from the druegar encampment in
the underdark.

it took me 6 hours to figure out how to beat him.

I usualy assume people up to taking on kangaxx will have found +4 weaponry already. But yes, hitting kangaxx with +3 or lower will get you nowhere fast.

And that's why a Monk in SoA cant kill the Demi-Lich, his fist r only +3 and if he uses Cutthroat or other +4/5 weapons is attacking speed is too slow and the demi-lich just regenerates back...

There are ways. For instance, if you have ToB installed you can use the HLA GWW in order to acieve ten attacks per round with any weapon. (This is why you should carry a decent sling at all times). And with ToB installed you can get monk fists up to +4 weapons anyway.

Or, if you dont have ToB you also dont have the ToB fixpack, and therefore monks can use wands. Not sure how that helps since there isnt a wand of lower resistance, but someone will have an idea. A wand of monster summoning perhaps?

No, kangaxx cant be hurt by anything that that will summon. That spider-summoning figurine maybe - poison damage should work. And kangaxx cant kill it if hes concentrating on you. And since he cant hurt you (Protection from MAgic scroll = immunity to imprisonment) you can use weapons for their effect rather than damage. Celestial Fury for example has a a stun effect.

Or one of the other summoning artifacts might be useful.

Point is theres so many options in BG2 something will work. If I come up with anything spectacularly clever, Ill post about it.
