If pass the shadow dragon with the wardstone will it still be there after I kill the Shade Lord? I want to get my ranger stronghold, but I don't think my party is strong enough (avg lvl 9) to take on the dragon. Hoping I can come back and kill it later.

If you have Yoshimo, and/or any other thief as well, just set up as many traps as possible, make sure to have a few Breach and Haste scrolls, and attack!

I'll probably wait. I felt cheesy enough when I cloudkilled it to death the last time through. Never laid a sword on it.

Actually, if you have a well-rounded party, it's possible to beat him as long as you have decent weaponry.

I'm not sure if my fighters have a low enough THAC0 to hit it yet. Best is Keldorn with a 6, the rest have around 9 or 10. When I went through with my Kensai/Mage she had a 0/3 THAC0 and was barely scratching it.
