What fantasy books do you prefer?
I just love Robert Jordans - Wheel of time |
Allright, let me be the first to give this particular answer. I have a feeling I certainly won't be the last...
*drumroll* The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien. (surprise, surprise) This is IMO the standard work of modern fantasy. |
My favourite fantasy book is -----> The Lord of the Rings (you all know the author so I will not write who is).

to throw some variety into the mix.
R.A. Salvatore's Seige of Darkness Number 2 Prince Of Lies Number 3 Star wars Bounty Hunter Trilogy Number 4 Dragnonlance Saga all 3 books make one very good long one. |
ATM, the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind, with LOTR a very close second.
|
Favorite's a tough one to come up with; it depends on mood and particular qualities I'm considering at a given time. Nonetheless, the following would be in there:
Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd & the Grey Mouser series (well, the first 5) Fletcher Pratt's Well of the Unicorn Jack Vance's The Green Pearl Pratt & de Camp's Land of Unreason Pratt & de Camp's The Incomplete Enchanter (parts 1, 2, 5) ER Eddison's The Worm Ouraboros |
I would have to say that Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series is a favourite for me.
|
1- LOTR
2- Sword of Truth serie (last book wasn't that good though) 3- The Whell of Time serie (last 2 books weren't that great) 4- Harry Potter is a close runner up (I haven't read the last book yet) |
I'll have to be predictable and go with LOTR too :D
It's just such a wonderful book, I read it years before the film came out. |
I think the Dragonlance series is my favorite fantasy novel series that I have read.
namely, the Chronicles and the Legends. |
