I personally think the "IT" is a very stupid idea, a scooter for 5000 dollars that makes you stand up and goes a WHOOPING 12 MILES PER HOUR!!!. you can get a whole car or a sit down scotter thats cheaper then that.

I personally say its a BIG miss, big BIG miss and dissapointment

I heard it goes about 20 miles an hour. This may not seem much but it is designed for cities. 20 miles an hour is a lot faster than the average speed of traffic in London, so maybe it has merit.

And remember how much mobile phones sucked when they first started to come on to the scene. Maybe some innovations will happen over time.

When I first saw this it reminded me of an episode of
South Park. In this particular episode this fellow created
a vehicle that.... Well I cant say what it did in this forum.
You will just have to see the episode. But it was nasty and funny at the same time.

I believe the speed is 12mph and the price is $3,000. I can't imagine a need for it to go much faster consider you ride it standing up. Here a video clip of the first guy who fell off during testing...

I can see where it could have it's uses in an urban setting. Anywhere else it's pretty much a toy. Still, it looks like fun

Maybe it will have it s place in some cities but here in Edmonton you would have to be nuts to drive that thing. Does not matter how fast it goes 12 or 20 mph. I would give you about 10 min driving on the streets. Maybe it will be good for grandma and grandpa going to the corner store. But I think walking would be cheaper. I didn't know Southpark was making fun of a real invention either untill i saw "it" comes out.
On the daily show they showed that in crowded streets, it would be hard to navagate people and that "a thief walks 7-9 times "its" walking speed". I think that Segway device could have been made cooler (four wheel and a seat?)

But I live in the suburbs and have most of my life, i can't really tell how it will help you much (also, i prefer the legs or the bike if i need distance, gets some exercise)

Im sure everyone here agrees with me when i say that $3000 would be much better spend on a ps2 and some games, i can imagine someone going up a halfpipe intending to do some trick while on it and the gyro gives and the kid falls of and it falls, breaks and there goes $3000.

But the point is, you're not supposed to fall off.

I believe the correct price is $3000 (US) and it has a top speed of 27km/h. Apparently thats faster than the average traffic speed in inner-city London.

God, is that all it was. I remember the hype a few months ago but hadn't heard anything else about it. Thought it was suppose to be an earth-shatteringly useful thing. Huh!!!

Did joke at the time to my ex about whether it would be something useless like the Sinclair C5. Do any of you British chappesses and chaps remember that (vaguely anyway)? Odd looking thing that was - like a tricycle only with fairing.

Think I'll give IT a miss and carry on saving for my black and purple CBR600F instead - far faster and more successfully antisocial
