OK, who is your favourite fantasy artist?
Can be from anything - book covers, album covers, posters, whatever - just anything that depicts fantasy/sci-fi. Why do you like it, and what is it about that particular artist or image that appeals to you? You don't have to show an image, BUT: Be careful about posting images due to copyright - if you want to show us, post a link to a fan-site or official site if in doubt. Oh, and keep it family viewing folks - I know those copper bras can get a bit skimpy http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif My personal favourite is Rodney Matthews. There are some great examples of his work here: http://www.artihall.boom.ru/matthews1.html Why? - I love the organic forms he uses, the colours are vibrant and the attention to detail is simply stunning. The worlds he creates are highly believable (as fantasy goes), and are filled with creatures, plants and beautiful architecture and machinery. Take a look, and tell me if this isn't wonderful stuff... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif ------------------ http://www.gldb.com/wayno/e1.jpg Time is an illusion. Lets see...Michael Whelan is excellent (as far as dragons go).
Also, the person who does the Wheel of Time covers (don't have one in front of me and can't remember the person's name at the moment). Also, the one who does Anne McCaffrey's artwork. I also used to think Gieger was great (until I saw a book in the store of his 'other' works). Now, I just think he's got a mental problem. ------------------ http://home-3.12move.nl/~se021070/dragon.jpg http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/hero2.gif Alureth...Dragon friend of Breanna, Mage and Advisor in the Court of Lady Lioness Co-Owner/Operator of the Evil Petting Zoo and devout member of the HADB clan. I have my own collection of art...on my body. I have 6 tattoos of dragons on me. I am not advanced enough to have the art books but love to search for the pics as backgrounds for my PC at home. I lean more towards the AD&D ones as opposed to the Chinese or Ann MaCaffrey dragons. (Pern)
My favorite tat is the one I have of a huge gold dragon. It starts at my thigh and ends at my knee. It took 6 hours for the guy to do and I twitched and sweated the entire time. The dragon's face is distorted and furry now. Brilliant!
Have you seen our photo album? We have a page for people to post pictures of their tattoos (again, family viewing only http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/FRblush.gif ) if you would like to show them off! There is of course a page also for people to post pics of their faces too! I can't find the link at the moment, but I will edit this post tomorrow to put in a link to the site. http://communities.msn.co.uk/Stealth...naventryid=100 EDIT: Putting in link to Stealthy's Site ------------------ http://www.gldb.com/wayno/e1.jpg Time is an illusion. Boris Vallejo all the way!

The Hildebrandt brothers did some awesome Tolkien calander work in the late 70's. Frazzetta is also quite good too.
