Long, but very good review ;)

Heheh, never fear, even I would not go for a system like this, even if I could have 4 x1900xtx's in quad crossfire! (Though it would be tempting) :D

I think if you can afford a comp with quad SLI, you should be doing something better with your money...

Agreed. I wouldn't go quad, most i'd go is dual. I think quad is overkill for little things like gaming and browsing and more so for intensive animation, fx and art creation studios etc.

geez.. quad? didnt know those things existed

I don't know, the games are becoming more and more sophisticated. I see a time when quad may not only be nice to play a game, but may be a minimum requirement. Ok, maybe they'd only push hard for dual, but you know what I mean.

True, but I still think we have alot to gain out of SLi and Crossfire before we need to head into 4 cards, and with the way video cards are getting faster and faster these days, I do think that in the end, the PC speed will far outweigh the game requirements ;)

Video cards have a lot of room for performance improvement on a single card... multiple cards are strictly for those willing to pay a huge premium for a relatively small head start on the market. I'm not going out on much of a limb when I predict that the seemingly unbeatable performance of ALL the sli setups on the market today will be outdated before the year is out. Sure they'll still be fast but you will be able to go out and buy a single card that will outperform them all... at a fraction of the cost... by christmas.

The digital crystal ball knows all.

I agree Thoran, Nvidia will release their next card in about 9 months (its a nice trend with them) and Ati will either be right before that or right after, and it should make for some interesting christmas presents for myself :D
