O.k., so i'm relatively poor with computers, and know nothing about patches and mods and such, and I've seen a lot of posts lately referring to mods and such like, "check out our new theif MOD" or something to that effect. What exactly is a MOD and how does it work? From what I've gathered, it's like, installing another character, or another quest or somthing? I'm sorry for the idiot questions again, but I haven't seen the 'search' option around here for quite some time...*looks under computer desk* nope, not there...*checks in floppy drive door* nope, not there either...*checks in pants* nope not there...*scans for local moderators, to scold sternly like an old crotchety lady about the lack of a search engine*...

A mod is an add-on to BG (or another game) that is usually unsupported by the game developers. Mods can be additional characters, quests, items, a rules change, or all of the above. They are created by fans of the game with the intent of enhancing gameplay for themselves and others.

So, do the characters have like...AI scripts and such? I mean, do they interact like the rest of the characters in bgII? I would think it would take a lot of careful planning to add a whole list of character interactions for the dozens of different characters in the game.
