I've got the stronghold and I'm a swashbuckler. I'm trying to keep up with the thieves and tributes to renal but I've got better things to do and I can't always get back to the docks district when I'm in the middle of the quest. Is there an end to the thief stronghold or do you just continue as you are?. Also are they any good side quests?

I'm not sure about the thief stronghold exactly, but I know that in general, the stronghold quests are pretty cool (I've done the ranger ones, and most of the fighter ones), and they do indeed end after a few side-quests. I recommend doing them.

As long as you give Renal his dues, you will have your guild. Ther are only 2 side quests.

U can stop paying dues to renal (and loose the guild off course) but anytime later in the game u can buy your thieves guild back from Renal(i think I did this after I returned from a big trip to the Underdark)
