I made a thread ages ago about a upcoming game called Spore.
I finally found the 2005 Game Developers Conference videos of the demonstration by Will Wright (the creator of the sims, sim city, numerous games with the "sim" prefix).
The demonstration does go for a while, so if you don't want to watch it all part 4 is the best.

But, to me, this looks like it is going to be the best game ever bar none.
