Share your recipes for protein shakes. Also, if I'm trying to bulk up, should I take one in this fashion:
1 Morning w/ Breakfast
1 Post workout
1 prior to Sleep.

Beer is full of protein. And that's about the extent of my beef shake knowledge. Sorry dude. Why haven't you jumped on this thread Johnny?

User dependent. What is the BV count of your product?
What is your BF %?
What is your total goal?

Taking one prior to bed can only be answered by you. Try it, and evaluate yourself in the morning. I have witnessed all types of 'sleep disorders' from "Joe" whilst taking one prior to sleep. Anything from horrid dreams, to bloating and just about everything in between.

Reminder, water is the only more important liquid your body needs, I'm sure you hvae heard it before, but stay h2o hydrated.

I was going to, until I heard some old friend of mine got Salmonella.

Felix:
12% body fat, 123 pounds (total weight)
My goal is 129 pounds, x<12% BF
As for BV, I'm not sure what that is. Could you define it or expand the acronym?

BV = Biological Value.
Don't want to debate it here, but my beliefs are that some do go over 100, and therefore the extended charts are valid. On the flip side, I believe there is an upper limit as well, and find the 135+ to be a bit out of category. If mother nature can produce 100 BV with a natural egg white, then science can surely add 'whey' to that foundation, maybe 107-111 is realistic.

If you want to bulk up you need to eat. A lot. Since you're not trying to define your body but make it bigger you have to eat like never before. Eat lots of protein rich food (tuna fish rocks here) and lots of complex carbohydrates. Then your glycogen level wil be high. So before training you must consume carobhydrates and after too. Then you need proteins. With these two compomnents your muscles will regenerate and regrow quicker.

Is cardio work a good idea here? I heard it burns fat faster (due to more muscles being used). As such, should I try to avoid that and simply use weights for leg muscle growth? or should endurance training be a definate part (it has been up to date) of my training?
BTW, the BV of my whey protein has been ranged from 104-159. I'm guessing that's good, based on some articles I found on the net and Felix's summary.

Cardio is more for definition of the body. If you want to bulk you need to work with weights. Heavy weights. So do let's say 4 series of 10 reps. At the last repetion your muscles should "collapse". Meaning you must not be able to do 11th rep.
