I get out of the underdark - and my scripts i have set for my characters fails to work. They don't attack on demand anymore... its happened twice everytime i surface from the underdark it happens. is it a bug?
For the rest of the game its like it plays on a custom script where i have to control the characters. Sucks butt. Now I don't mind controlling 1 player but 3 gets kinda nerve wracking, My first trip through the game I played 5 by myself without the scripts cuz i didn't know they were there LoL. Theres a small button the the bottom left. Cant remember what it looks like, but it turn on and off party AI. Try that. Dont know why it would happen coming out of the underdark though, so it might be a bug. www.bioware.com for the official patch.

On the bottom right, I must correct. On the left, there are pause and rest buttons.
The default key mapped to the function is A. As it is said before, it toggles party AI, say, scripts. |
You guys are talking about the 'Lantern' button aren't ya? AFAIR that button turns off party AI. Concerning your problem, Tyranny]SiN[, I have no idea.. It never happened to me

AFAIR = as far as I remember
AFAIK = as far as I know Chris |
:( The party AI is "ON" but still no go. I have the Official and unofficial patch already loaded. I loaded them when I first got the game. I was overly excited when I first got it had everything already for it and ready to play it without interruption. hehe.

<font color="palegreen">I'm just leaving the Underdark for the first time myself, <font color="yellow">Tyranny</font>.
But I haven't used the AI script in a loooooong time. It would always send some character (usually Jaheira) too close to the monster, or off in the wrong direction. Besides, I like to control the combat myself. I assign all 6 members a specific target to attack, then let the battle run. When an enemy dies, I PAUSE the game and assign that character(s) to a new enemy. Also, I currently have Jaheira, Imoen, and Nalia. I rarely use any of them for melee' combat (although Jaheira DOES have a butt-kicking staff from an "outside of the game" source). Since I have to "target" their spells anyway, it was just easier for me to leave the AI off all the time. BTW, I am the only one I know of that loves playing the Wizard Slayer class. Cerek was patterned after my PnP barbarian who - as per the 1st Edition rules - does NOT like mages. I was disappointed that I couldn't make him a barbarian in Baldur's Gate, but was THRILLED to see the Wizard Slayer class in BGII!!! THAT fits Cerek's personality perfectly. Now, he is 20th level, has something like 65-75% Magic Resistance and has some items from <font color="lime">Arundor's Abode</font> that turn him into a veritable mage-slaughtering machine. :D </font> |
