Reminds me of how one of my favorite nonsensical responses, when people ask me if I'd like (fill in the blank), I tell them "I'm on the patch"

:D

I usually say "I'm trying to quit." This goes from anything to a kind of soda to a kind of food. Last night, though, I was at a restaurant and someone asked if I wanted a mushroom. I said, "Mushroom? No, thanks, I'm trying to quit" and I got a really funny look, for some reason.

Then again, it was more polite than stating my actual reason for not eating mushrooms.

"They're fungus..."

Not something you want to hear when you're eating it, I'd imagine.

Actually funghi are very fascinating organisms. You know what the curse of biology is? You always know what you eat. That leaf of lettuce you just ate - it's still alive. It will panic in your gastric acid and slowly get killed as it desperately tries to remedy the situation. Basically I don't give a beeep anymore. As long as it tastes good. Our brain will make anything seem yucky. But you gotta eat to live. Might as well aim for something tasty. Like funghi. Porcini baked with butter. Uhhhhm.

Funny, I always Just Said Yes. I just don't get the kids these days, not doing drugs. It just doesn't make sense to me.
