Can anyone recommend a good DivX player? Preferably free, though a 30-day trial version will also do.

Yes I have it. Problem is I cant open many subtitles. Tried copying to same folder and renaming to match name of movie file, but it didnt help.

I suspect the film would have to ripped to include subtitles as part of the file - you can't just switch them on and off as per a normal DVD.

No... other players allow using separate files for subtitles. The ones with extensions .srt or .sub for example. Like the ones that can be downloaded here www.subscene.com.

I was using RadLight player and BSPlayer with this before.

Use vlc. Best media player on the market, supports subtitling.
