this didnt happen to me but told to me by a friend.
Apparetnly his professor in college on the first day after introducing himself went to the blackboard to write his email on it so the students can contact him. so went and wrote johnsmith@#NOSPAM#email.com. he then told the students that when they write to him they "of course have to remove the #NOSPAM# part." No one cared to correct him lol  . [ 09-17-2005, 07:59 PM: Message edited by: ZFR ] |

I presume that the joke is that he doesn't have to write #NOSPAM# with chalk on the blackboard in the first place. He could just have left it out completely.
But what's with the Noone cared to correct him?
Why is he stupid? If you look at game walkthroughs for example the ones in gamefaqs.com . Lots of walkthrough writers do that.
Walkthroughs get read on computers by strangers... There's really no need to write it on a blackboard for your students!!

the reason it is done is so that bots which search autmoatically for emails on internet (message boards, forums, etc) to send spam cant use it. there is no reason to do that on a board. If a spammer wants to use the email from blackboard, he's smart enough to remove the #nospam# anyway. And I meant no student told him its useless to put #nospam# when writing on blackboards [ 09-18-2005, 07:35 PM: Message edited by: ZFR ] |
