what actually is the disruption part of the mace of disruption?

Ive been playing BG Dark Alliance for PS2 which I find very entertaining btw, anyways I keep getting clubs of disruption and swords of disruption, and I forget what the disruption part means and what it is good for, can somone help me out here?

It disrupts undead, just like the spell Disrupt Undead (Not in BG but in DnD proper).

BG: DA is a great game. A bit short, but still great. Has anyone beaten The Gauntlet? I find that VERY hard... :\

the weapon (mace of disruption) originally duplicated the abilty turn undead used by a 14th lvl cleric, on any undead creature it strikes, teh result being that many were instantly blasted out of existance, and the others got scared away, it was later changed to destroy all types, although more powerful ones had a chance to escape destruction.
