I heard Shakira's 'Wherever, Whenever' (or sumfin) on the wireless today. As far as pop singers go, she sings alright i guess. But there's one word, of one line that she murders with awful, out of tune delivery. Even after four years or so, it still makes me cringe wherever or whenever i hear the smegga.
"I'll be there and you'll be near" Or is it 'here'. I honestly couldn't tell. Which got me thinkin' that there must be heaps of other songs and singers that get on IWers nerves. Just a thread for you to post 'em. The whole song, a chorus, a word or a singer in general. Let 'em have it! :D [Edit: Great bum tho' ] [ 09-01-2005, 08:58 AM: Message edited by: Sever ] |
It's not the bum that counts Sever. I once bought Britney Spear's first single ("Baby One More Time" or something like that) because I thought she looked hot in the video. I've been lured to the darkside ever since, but thank heaven on my bare knees for the presence of p2p :D
Anyways, on topic: I *simply* loathe the fact that Anastacia tried to sound like a black gospel-singer on her first album. It just sounds like someone strangled a hoarse cat and put it on an album. |
Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal - I wondered for ages what the hell he said about Annie, "Annie are you OK", "Annie are you walking", "Annie are you woking" etc etc :D
p.s. yes I know it's meant to be ok! |
I was just about to say "it's meant to be OK" until I saw your p.s. :D
What would "Annie are you woking" mean? :D |
Well I'll go on record saying I like Shakira... (so hot...) and in the song mentioned I think it's just her singing style...
But one lyric I have to mention is George micheals Careless Whisper, it's not badly sung but the lyrics are just so painstakingly embarrasing, when I heard them first and acctually bothered to listen I laughed for ages... "I'm never gonna dance again Guilty feets got no rythm!!!" What!?! :D |
What songs to I hate? Anything by Britney.

WTH? How can lyrics be out of tune? Lyrics are just words, so they can't be out of tune. They can be PERFORMED out of tune, but how would that make them harder to understand?

I suppose "woking" would be assault via a wok, i.e. you're in the kitchen frying up some thinly stripped chicken fillets. An intruder enters your home...nothing else is within reach so you you proceed to give him a bloody good woking before summoning the police.
