Thinking about getting a new pet and am leaning toward a lizard of some sort, the only drawback is I want something intelligent that I can bond with and this kinda leaves the lizard out. I want something at least as smart as a cat, but I have already had cats and want something different. Any suggestions? Are there any intelligent lizard/snakes out there?

Why an animal? Allow me to suggest a fern. Nice looking. Quiet. Doesn't mess up homework. Easily housebroken. Cheap to feed. Listens carefully to what you have to say. The ideal pet if you ask me.

Can you honestly bond and play with a plant without being dubbed a loon?

Guinea Pig, Rabbit, Mouse, Cockatiel or Budgie

Try king cobra. It would love to give you a kiss.

Leopards can be domesticated.

I think a blue tongue lizard would do you fine. There easy to cuddle because they don't do anything... But I think their tongues are pretty cool.
