I run into a similar situation with the unseeing eye about 50% of the time.
Spoiler (?) , , , , , , , , , After using the rift device to kill the eyeless god and then destroying said rod I go back to the Cult of the Eyeless temple only to find the eyeless god alive and well and mildly irritated with me over killing him in the first place. So once again I get to kick his sightless butt (do beholders have butts?) and pick another pile of experience for doing so. It doesn’t happen every time which is why I generally leave this quest for rather late in the game. The experience is nice so I never mind. |
Killing the Unseeing Eye without using the Rift Device is not a bug, simply another way of doing the quest (for instance, you could give the 1st half to Gaal, which summons the Eye to the temple to attack you). The Unseeing Eye is pathetically easy, especially compared to what you had to fight to get to him.
I've never been able to kill the Eye twice in the same game--that you were able to do it probably IS a bug. Did you get 2 Amulets? |
