Also, a mosque in East London surrounded by armed police and evacuated after a bomb scare. |
Yeah just read that article. 5 times point blank range!? Surely it would have been better to detain the guy
I can't imagine what it must have been like for the guy sat watching it all in front of him. Plain clothed men too so he wouldn't have realised they were police, certainly not at first. |
Ouch, that's gotta hurt.
Given the huge amount of paperwork and soul-searching that always follows the police using firearms it's probably reasonable to assume he was about to set off a bomb or had run from something similar. |

Five times - that'll teach him to buy a ticket! :D Detain him? Not with my tax dollars! |

More information can be gained from people who are alive by the way ;) . |
How about we polish up a spike, rebuild the gate houses and put his head on London Bridge.
We could even go through the whole beheading/this is the head of traitor thing. [ 07-22-2005, 08:30 AM: Message edited by: Aragorn1 ] |
I just listened to a report of a man who was right there when the shooting happened. I think this man deserved all he got. While information is precious lives are more so.
|
I'm not so sure that he got what he deserved at this point. Reports are coming in that this guy was unarmed and "crying with fear" before he was gunned down. I still feel that restraining him, then unloading 5 bullets into him is a little excessive without knowing more information about this first!
Sure, he's Asian, was running away from armed police in a subway so close to the terrorist attacks and was wearing a coat, does that make him a terrorist? I think not. There could be lots of viable reasons why he was running from them - sure it was a very stupid thing to do, but we'd best hope that this was not an innocent man and the police made the right call. If the police have shot an killed an innocent asian guy, we can expect serious reprisals. |
Well according to the news, this man was placed under surveillance following the attacks yesterday.
He was then challenged by armed police on the station platform but chose to ran. The police say he was directly related to the attacks yesterday, although not actually one of the bombers. An independent investigation will of course be launched into the shooting, but I'm not losing any sleep. |

Go read the lives of the London Bombers from the last attack, in the CE forum. Then rethink what you claim about your post above. And remember, the hatred for the crown is deeper then that of the red, white and blue! On a side note, if you would have been in charge back in the day, we would not celebrate our war of independence, it would have been handed to us on a silver and gold platter! |
