This says that in the Netherlands, they have new stuff that will boost speeds on the net to 50 times faster than today's average. They say that competition will begin in 2007, but their stuff will be out next year. |

50*500kb/s = 25000kb/s :D Cool hope they'll upgrade soon ;) But probably they'll be asking a lot more money for speeds like that. edit: But they still have to invite something to use such speeds for. Don't know much I'd need more bandwith for than we have now [ 07-20-2005, 12:55 PM: Message edited by: philip ] |
Woah! I hope they get that in my area sometime soon!

The speed of the net would better increase too I hope! I have a 10M/bit connection here and I don't get close to it all too often. Usually downloads are around the 200-600kb/s but every now and then I may hit 800-900. The most I've ever seen it is in the high 900's but you can still get let down by very slow speeds at times. There's nothing like having a super fast connection and be struggling to break the 5kb/s mark!
I'm sure that with the increase of download speed, the speed of many sites on the net is soon to speed up also but the net is a big place and I don't believe there will be too much of a drastic change to it's speed too soon! Hopefully I'm wrong there though! |
600kb/s?! I stuggle to hit 50.

Yeah, 10 to 15 is average for me. 50 is reaaaly reallly fast for me. I suppose I worded that a little differently than I meant.
