Ever since Puff Daddy released his "I'll Be Missing You" track in honor of the deceased Notorious B.I.G. I've been having this argument with virtually everyone I meet. The argument's about which track of the two is better, and I, for one, can't see why people choose the Puff Daddy one (which happens quite a lot!)

So what's your opinion? Is it "Every Breath You Take" (courtesy of Sting & The Police) or "I'll Be Missing You" by Puff Daddy and Faith Evans?

How can that even be argued any other way, "puff daddy" is an idiot and a theif, he stole that song like he stole Kashmir from Led Zeppelin for his Godzilla song or whatever it was.
Sting & The Police were a great band, it's such a shame f***s like "puffy" cover their great music.

Actually, it's not stealing, it's public domain, so long as proper credit is given. I can have no official opinion, as I haven't heard the Puffy track, but I must say that since I don't like anything else I've heard by him...

My thoughts exactly! Well, not exactly, 'cause I don't think it's copyright infringement or actual theft of music, merely a rape of something beautiful. But apparently there are people who actually think the version by Puffy and Faith Evans is better than the one by Sting & the Police. Maybe it's the fact that it's dedicated to "a great rapper" ( ) that makes it a better track.

In my opinion, it's a crock. Puff made his career on remixing songs, I can understand if a band with experience behind them redid a song because there are some good remakes but if you base your career on it, that just says you have no ideas for songs of your own and you gotta take someone else's.

I've heard his version of it, all he did was throw in a new title and called it his, he sings the entire song in monotone. Sting & The Police win hands down.

Puff Daddy can't even come close to understanding what Sting and the Police created. PD is just riding their coat tales (and others).

The original song by The Police is superior.

Blech, P Didiot sucks, always has. Never understood how he got to be some sort of God in the rap world.

And in general: I'm glad to see Ironworks isn't full of cultural barbarians! ;) :D
