and I mean die-hard ones like me, not people who just know his name and might have seen him perform "miss misery" at the oscars.
|
I'm not much of a die hard fan myself, but I do have XO. Does that count? ;)
|
I don't have any of the Heatmiser stuff--mainly because it's impossible to find here.
But I've got everything else and XO is one of my favourite albums of all time. And I remember exactly where I was the day he checked out. Don't know if I'm die-hard (never waited in snow for concert tickets or anything), but I'd say his music has had a strong influence on my life. |
I guess I should qualify the statement "die-hard". I've never seen him in concert, never been to L.A. to see the Figure 8 Wall, can't remember where I was when he died (because I didn't discover his music till AFTER he had), but I consider myself a HUGE fan. I have his three heatmiser albums and all six of his solo ones. there is NO other music that has connected with me so deeply. basically, and I've used this expression on another board, if my e.s. collection and my mom were about to be run over by a runaway train, it'd be a hard choice on which one to save! . . . . ;)
|
Er...don't know about anybody else, but if it were a choice between saving 9 circular pieces of replaceable plastic and my parent's life, I'd probably go with my parent.
Maybe a better hypothetical situation would be a choice between "un-hearing, un-knowing" Elliott Smith's music or your parent's voice. Either way I'd have to go with my parental unit (sorry Elliott). |
good for you, dude. but so would I. it was a joke, dude.
what is it with roleplaying forums and no sense of humor? I get the same thing at CoM... |
