On a Laptop what is a safe temperature for the processor to reach...? my processor is a 1.6 P-M (dothan) and i hits near 60 degrees on full load. is this bad for the health of my laptop and my lap [img]tongue.gif[/img]

<span style="color: lightblue">Don't let the benchmarks trick you - it is too easy to fall into the all-hardware-is-the-same trap. If it feels hot, it's probably not good for your lap. If it feels significantly hotter than usual, it's probably not good for anything much. Regardless of what the numbers say, try to keep it as cool as you practically can. Sitting it on your lap to use it is a very good way to heat everything up - you produce heat, in vast amounts. So, again, don't rely on the numbers - your instinct and common sense is probably a better measure.

If the temperature concerns you, they do make laptop cooling devices now. Sit the laptop on the device and it circulates "stuff" to keep the laptop cooler. I haven't tried one, but if I were concerned, I'd look at it.
