I can't even believe what some people are thinking. Even worse the Cambodian Government allowed the fight to take place, under the condition that they receive a 50% commission on each ticket sold. Anyway to make a sad story short the lion won after 12 minutes, after which 28 fighters were declared dead, while the other 14 suffered severe injuries including broken bones and lost limbs, rendering them unable to fight back.</font>

I remember I totally freaked out when I heard about this, but I think it was discovered to be a hoax, a story somebody made up on a regular forum and it got out somehow?

Not everything on the Darwin awards can be trusted, they've even awarded Darwin awards to suspected hoaxes just because the story is so good. The BBC can obviously be hoaxed too. I didn't believe this midget story for a nanosecond either fwiw. More can be found out here...
