A few days ago, one of our inter-island ferries in New Zealand crushed a fishing boat on its way to Wellington. The fishing boat was ran into and completly destroyed, and the two occupants killed. This is the second inter-island ferry company to crush a fishing boat.
Also, one of the ferries had an electrical fault while going through a channel. The rudder locked up and the ferry was left going around in circles for an hour, and almost beached itself.

Sounds like they're having problems and should do some safety checks.
