Sony told to pay $90.7m (£48m) in damages and stop selling PlayStation consoles in the United States after losing a patent infringement lawsuit.
 What a kick in the balls that is. |
i heard.. they will stop ps2 in the US when that happens all because of a controller that vibrates during the game.
|
Couldn't they just take out the vibrating thing?
|
Do what???
Now that's a load of crap if I've ever heard it. All this over a controller? The world's gone insane. |
lol, i was going to post this but Ironworks wasnt working for me.
Hehe, well, Sony was the main one to get in trouble, Microsoft and Nintendo were also slightly involved but one of them settled outside of court. |

Hmm, wait. Does this impede the progress of the PS3?!
|
Most likely. Holy crap. That's astounding. Some stupid little pissant company wins a lawsuit and takes the fun out from millions of people in the US.
|
No, it just means they cant sell PS2's anymore, they are not directly preventing Sony from continuing their product research and production.

So, a software patent, those things that alot of open source people (including myself) are against because they can be extremely broad and ruin emerging companies, have just been used to syphon alot of money from a well-known and well-established company. |
