Now it's 5.55pm already but the computer clock shows it's only 9.58am. This has happened like 3 times already. Is there something wrong with my computer?
|
Could it be you have some sort of a program that updates it automatically to keep it "accurate" but it is set at a diffrent timezone... I had something like that. If not it could be your BIOS battery running out, but that only happens on computers that are 6 years old or so.

Bios battery running out? The computer is only 4 years old. I'll have it check then. thanks.
|
Yeah, I'd say it was your BIOS battery, just because its new doesnt mean that its faulty ;)
|
Is it wrong when you start your computer? I never really shut mine off so it's usually right.
I do have some games that will slow the windows clock down though. HoMM 3 does this for sure and 1 or 2 others as well. [ 03-26-2005, 12:09 PM: Message edited by: Variol (Farseer) Elmwood ] |
BIOS battery is the first thing that jumps to mind, and the easiest to fix. Could concievably be that something is resetting the clock, so a malware and virus scan wouldn't go amiss, but BIOS battery is the better bet.

Although if the computer is left connected to power, shouldn't it not matter if the battery is flat?
Also, wouldn't other settings be lost if the battery was running out? Well, it can't hurt to change it. |
I've tested, this thing happen when I turn off the computer and then turn off the switch.
