Well, 1 year, 2 ISPs and multiple locations later and still I am having this issue with the IW forums. It kinda pushed me away from the forums a few months back, only to return and see it is still rampant - for me anyways. The same old thing, browse a few posts then suddenly the pages simply time out. No attempt to get the forums to load again will be successful until about 20-30 minutes. Then the cycle starts again.
I recently saw that many others were still having this issue also so decided to bring it up here to see whats new. Are there any known workarounds? Do we have any idea what the actual problem is itself?
I know for sure it is not on my side. It has never happend me on any other forum but this. I've done tracerts and pings at Zirocs suggestion and all check out good on my end. At the time of discussion a while back there were at least 30 people who were experiencing this. Personally (and just from experiencing it so many times) I still have a feeling its got to do with bandwidth usage and limits. Maybe the ISP that supplies the forum bandwidth has some untold limit per user, or per hour? Maybe theres some 'fine print' setting for limits? Like when a site hosts a pic for someone and eventually slaps a 'bandwidth exceeded' tag on it when too many people view it.
Also, and going on the above idea I wonder if being permanently logged in somehow tags you as a "b/w-hog" so to speak and then allows you 'less' usage if you know what I mean. Yes, these are just random guesses but hey it may be worth looking into at least.
