Got this in my email. Filled it out and got my new power cord.
Microsoft is providing new power cords at no charge to replace the cords that originally came with some Xbox consoles. You will need your Serial Number and Manufacture date to verify if your Xbox Console requires a replacement cord. This is located on the bottom of your console. Microsoft has chosen to replace the power cords on Xbox consoles manufactured before October 23, 2003. This is because of a component failure in a small number of consoles - fewer than 1 in 10,000 - has caused burning inside the console or melting of the power cord where it connects to the console. Cheers! |
No offence to your godly modly knowingness....
But Sir Goulum already brought this up ;) Then again, many people may not have read it.... On that note, I should probably check mine |
While you're here, get Linux up on the Xbox. Also, replace your HDD the 8gb HDD with a 160gb one, and your laughing, Linux and an Xbox, starts to make an Xbox look worthwhile

My friend got a letter about this. The problem is he already sold his X-Box but I am sure that we can find a use for an X-Box cord.

Do you happen to have the manufacturing date and the serial number handy?
