One day I was at my friends house. I pressed open the button to open the PS2 tray. I placed Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater disc in the tray and gave a slight push on the tray. And it slid back into place. My friend is like "WTF are you doing!?!? You are supposed to press the BUTTON!"

So yeah do you push the tray or do you hit the button for it to slide back in.
As you can see I am a pusher.*shoves* :D

I'm a pusher, and I have had no negative sideeffects from pushing it in... But you have to remember one thing: only push for about 5 milimeters, no more.

I used to use the button on all CD drives as I was constanly hearing about broken drives because of puching, but these days, they are designed to allow a bit of a puch becasuse it happens all the time, and im just lazy :D

I reckon they're all designed to be pushed in. My dad has a CD player which only has an open button, so the only way you CAN close it is to push the tray. I admit I normally press the button cos if you push to far, you can damage the motor, but as stated they can all be pushed a little way.

Normaly I push, but on my own, non-cheap drives that I have to replace if I break em, I hit the button.

I've generally pushed the tray in manually most of the time. Even more so on this new computer - when the tray ejects, the flap covers the button so its a right kefuffle to try and push it again. Plus, the CPU is below me, to the left of my chair, not on the desk, so it takes extra effort to press the button.

I push, but that's because it would take far too much effort to close it otherwise.

If only they put the button on the left side! because the computer is on my right side the tray blocks the button so I am a unhappy shover

My kids are under strict instructions to ONLY use the button, do as I say not as I do
