Fellow Ironworkers, with malware appearing daily, it's hard to stay safe on the net. Our very own Cerek was hit, and hit hard, by malware recently.

Here is a link to Symantec, to test your security, I only post this because I know for fact where it is, and what it is.

You must use Internet EploDer, to do this, mainly Mozilla products will just not allow it to be checked, as that's the code.

Symantec secuirty check.

Wow, my little mac is actually safe! Probably just because it's a mac though.

Interestingly, Spybot picked up the change to the registry when I went to install it...

Thanks Felix The Assassin!
I just checked using Internet Explorer and I'm all safe. I use Firefox normally anf boy, you can really see the difference in the speed between the two.

For anyone not yet using Firefox, please do your yourselves a favour and switch.

The only thing I failed on was the anti-virus checker as I don't have one.

Looks like I'm already a bit safer for not using IE5+ with activeX enabled

It failed me for a virus checker on this computer, but I have McAfee installed. Perhaps it wasn't on the list it was checking for...

You think the guys who make Norton are gonna congratulate you for having the competition installed? Avast didn't make the cut either. ;)

True enough... but to raise a red flag and claim I have *no* virus protection? That taints the message they're trying to send with the rest of the service they're providing. I realize that they want to get business because of it, but if you pretend the competition doesn't even exist, how well can I trust the rest of the information you're providing?

Yep, I agree! I totally gave up on Symantec/Norton a while back, things like this only reinforces my decision and opinion that it is a company not worthy of my business.

Interesting, it says here that I have failed my Antivirus Product Check and Virus Protection Update Check. This is probably because I'm using AVG antivirus software. heh! prpobably want me to buy and install a norton antivirus. what a quicky way to make money.
