Hey all!
It's been quite some time since my last post... Lately I've been re-organising my music files (as one needs a categorised music list -- All intensive purposes ) And have been thinking about tracking down a lyric website that could cater for my needs (providing correct lyrics with minimal spyware). But I have stumbled upon a problem that we have all once before in our time encountered. NO GOOD LYRIC DATABASES!!!! I had a good one before I reformatted my computer, then lost it because I forgot to save my favourites list =/ So I come to you now in hope of finding a STABLE, verified of having NO HIDDEN SPYWARE, resourceful, somewhat correct information, easy to use layout etc... There are many other like me that have encountered a problem like this. And I am sure there are many members out there that have information they would like to share with the other thousands of people out there.. ;) Thank you all for your time. Marikai. |
www.letssingit.com - Has some pop ups, but is a good one.
www.songmeanings.net - Has the lyrics and people's opinions on what the song means. |
The only problem with lets sing it that I've encoutered so far is that idiots who download music by the wrong title or the wrong artist name will inevitably post their wrong titles etc. on there, as the site is open to user modification.
Great besides that, though! |
<span style="color: lightblue">Use a non-IE, non-Netscape browser, and have it set to reject third party cookies (that is, not from the same website), and you needn't worry about spyware again. I recommend Firefox, others will point you to Opera. But anything that isn't IE (and also isn't Netscape) will server you well.
Anyway, Google is your friend. Just search for "xxxx" lyrics or "xxxx" song lyrics where xxxx is the title (or, in some cases, the first line) of the song you want. Include the quotes for best results. So, for example, you might google for "happy little vegemites" lyrics, and one of the first page results gives us what we're after: Quote:

And in addition to Lennons good (as always) advice. after surfing wash your computer with spybot or adaware. Think of it as cleaning your hands after going to the toilet :D

Try Lyrics On Demand. It has some pop ups but nothing annoying.

For rap lyrics, there's no better than www.ohhla.com but I doubt you want that (in my experience most other rap lyrics sites steal their lyrics from Ohhla - I've had lyrics I typed and sent into OHHLA nicked as well.

Well, for metal lyrics, the best (and only site) i use, is www.darklyrics.com - it's had everything i've ever looked for.

Thanks to all of you for your help ! :D
I have found the lyrics that I was after ( The Outsider by A Perfect Circle). Someguy, Thanks --- Lennon, that was intense and very insightful Thanks a bunch ;) I swap between all three web browsers.. IE - Has speed for those sites that you trust (club forums / game forums / online games etc) Opera - Good Proxy system. Firefox - A mix of both IE and Opera. --- Wellard, it would suck to be me.. I haven't installed anti-virus or adaware programs yet (reformatted remember?) I'll look into that now actually. --- Xen, thanks --- Vaskez, I'll add them to my favourites.. though I'm not to keen on rap music. :( --- TheGodThatFailed, that's an insane site! Thanks Thanks for the help ~Marikai. [ 02-07-2005, 09:18 PM: Message edited by: Marikai ] |
