the previous thread is here:

Cloudy's Cafe

Come in, be welcome, be comfortable, be yourself

Welcome to Cloudy's Cafe, a place to have a cup of coffee or a good
darjeeling and the finest in conversation and camaraderie.

The proprietor asks that you follow a few simple guidelines:

this is a real conversation zone, not a role-play zone

* no flaming; if you disagree with a viewpoint expressed by any patron, please do so in a civil manner

* any topic is fair game, but keep posts to the standards that Ziroc has set for the entire forum, please (ie: foul language is not appropriate and things should be suitable for all audiences)
-a side note from Cloudy: I see this as a place for those short
conversations about a new baby or the latest soccer fiasco, not for things that are big enough to warrant their own threads, by all means give those things the space they need and post separately!

* Please, no one word or smiley posts (Ziroc has declared them 'real spam' and the proprietor doesn't want the reputuation of "good spam" to suffer!)

* do feel free to be serious or silly and enjoy the company of others while you are here. By all means POST if you have something to say, even to start another topic , we can handle multiple chats, we're a CAFE!!! But be courteous and don't disrupt a conversation just to disrupt it.

Come on in! The bar is stocked with coffees, teas, juices and waters from around the world. And purple napkins, of course!

The lighting is low, the golden oak counters and tables glow with inviting warmth. Near the window, the lighting is brighter, as comfy, plush leather armchairs wait for those who'd like to read a book while relaxing to music or just lazily watch the world go by.

 PLEASE NOTE

This is a modified reminder that I've posted before in reply to someone asking "can we spam the cafe". It still holds true, so I'm going to repeat it periodically for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Read the first post of the thread, it's NOT a spam zone. If you want to discuss you grades, a problem with a teacher, the weather, your neighbor's new car etc.....etc.. (real life conversations) this is the place. I don't mind a SMALL amount of spam but when the Cafe gets to be 8 pages in one day and it's all one liner pure spam, I have to ask people not to do it because most of the members who would come to talk about their day or things that they want advice or sympathy or cheers on, will not post in that atmosphere. I want you to be comfy here, but not at the expense of other members.

So the answer is NO, I don't want to see page after page of roleplay spam or one liner spamfests that could be done on msn or aim etc. because our goal is to TALK WITH one another , not fill up a cafe in five hours. ;)

Good Morning Ironworks!!! It's Friday where I am and I'm pretty glad to see the end of the week!

Who's watching the superbowl this weekend? Who's watching a few rented movies instead? LOL I'm opting for the latter but don't know what to rent.

Segundo post! Enjoy the LAN party... may your weapons strike true.

Ardsfarks! I posted this in the wrong cafe, responding to RevRuby... :(

Ahhhh.... the joys of bathtime I wonder when baths stop becoming social occasions and become part of the daily drudgery? Hasn't hit my kids yet... :D

I've done a preliminary run on our taxes (since I haven't gotten my final W2 yet). We're doing better than last year, when we got way too much back from the feds. This year we're only getting a couple hundred back, which is a tremendous improvement. And it's all going to my new drum kit... estimated to arrive Tuesday, when I'm in California! :( Bummer... I won't get to <strike>play</strike> set it up until Thursday.

Morning All! It's mah birfday!
I must set myself up for bad days on my birthday by expecting it to be a bad day LOL. First thing this morning the little TV in my bedroom bit the dust. The picture tries to come in but just can't. It's not like it hasn't lived a long and happy life but it had to die on the anniversary of the day of my birth LOL. Then, I needed to run to the grocery store and when I got home the door handle on my car broke on the inside - I had to roll the window down and open it from the outside. It's not that it hasn't lived a long and happy life but it had to die on the anniversary of the day of my birth LOL.

Looking forward to a nice lunch and a quiet night out at one of my favorite restuarants.

*Thinking positively from this point on*
(praying nothing else "bad" happens lol)

Did my taxes the day before yesterday. I won't brag about paying LOL.
I hope those of you getting refunds get enough to get what you want and need!

Virtual cake will be my snack of choice this morning. Some strong coffee will hit the spot too. Seeing as I partake in neither IRL I see no harm in virtually bouncing off the walls for a while.

Wishing everyone all a great day and tolerable weather!

The weekend, and what a weekend it is to be. Saturday, I have promised to go on a long walk with my parents. Leaving two pieces of coursework and any other homework till Sunday. The day of rest, apparantly. I can't see me getting much rest. Anyway, that's enough ranting for now...

Happy birthday Violet. You're what....31 now ? :D

Anyway, this is a perfectly good reason to drink yourself totally silly and let others pay for it. I know i will, my birthday is friday next week. :D

I'll be 18 next week. Yay...i'm finally allowed entrance to x-rated movies. :D

Hivetyrant 02-04-2005 11:40 AM
