I am kind of baffled, I normally understand most of your actions and accept them (even when my sig was blatantly edited) but yesterday I posted a thread that contained a picture that made fun of the US President in form of an movie poster, I thought it was fairly stupid but funny and innocently thought no one could possibly take offence to it. I went to sleep shortly after and logged back on the next day and found that the thread had been deleted.

Is there some new policy here that the president can not be made fun of, if so I apologise but you really should announce that sort of thing. Also why was the thread deleted not just closed like *all* other "offensive" threads?

Anyway, I apologise for having caused this trouble but hope you'll bother explaining, if not just delete this one too...

I would guess, and just a guess of course, that it still could be considered insulting.

Americans are very patriotic, and many take serious offence to have fun poked at their President.

I'm sure it was probably innocent, but not everyone may have seen it that way! ;)

I don't think I've encountered another subject as dangerous as US politics. :D

I just always figured that Christians would vote for him, since they both share beliefs. I just think people will look past that and see Bush's performance as a president, economically speaking.

I think John Kerry is a Christian as well. Could be wrong though

With politicians it's hard to tell if they really are Christian or whether they are just saying it to make people believe they're more trustworthy etc.

That is pretty weird Jorath.

I've seen a lot of anti-Bush humor here at IW over the years and can't remember any being deleted. Now there have been a few threads that have been locked, which people questioned, but outright deletions? No.

I'll have to say that it is a rarity, but the truth is that I've never heard of the mods or webmaster doing it.
