Okay, so I'm not an Anthropologist...but even aspiring physicists can wonder what kind of society we have created here. I think my interest began in this when I noticed myself wondering demographic things like "what is the average post number here, and if it changes, what inferences can I make."
Regardless, though, the real question of the post is this: Can Ironworks Forum be described as an autonomous culture? Just curious as to what this place IS besides being a crpg internet forum. After all, if it was just that, why would we even post? We could just look up a faq like the rest of the world's gaming population. |
We post because we have nothing better to do! ;) Er...ok, so maybe that's me, but still.

Well I made many "friends" here. Also I like posting.

I suppose, when you look at it that way, you could see us as an e-culture. We come here, have 'friends', and enjoy it.

For me, it's not really about posting. I don't post to post. I post because I enjoy being exposed to people, and simply don't get that in MY life...I'm the quiet observer-type. I enjoy reading about the occurances in people's lives, plus roleplayers are interesting people, so here I am.
Oh, and for now, the average number of posts is about 63.951...which is about what it was about a month ago. |
It's a great place.
Since I have been here I have: 1.Met a lot of nice people, some of which live close by, Andrewas in particular has been very helpful. 2.Learned a lot about computers/programming etc. that I didn't know before. 3.Found my true love-bgt (well one of them anyway :D ) 4.Just had a great place to be, I am also never bored anymore, I can always come here. I think it's nice to build up respect/friendships as you stay for longer. There are so many other things IW's has done for me. |
