Is anyone intending to watch it tonight? Apparently, it is supposed to get better as the night progresses. Hopefully it won't be a bust like this years Leonids, where I got complete cloudage. And we've been getting hit hard with lightning storms and all, but I'm hoping everything goes away for an hour.

Sounds interesting, but it says that Australians can barely see it, tell us about it SecretMaster.

Bleh, lousy weather is gonna be a wreck here. We just got pounded by more storms today, and clouds still cover the entire area. While I like watching lightning storms, I'd rather watch a meteor shower.

Yeah, I read about the Perseids tonight. I've never actually watched a meteor shower before but maybe I will get to tonight. It's been cloudy and rainy all day so I hope that the skies will be clear, but I doubt it. I have to stay up tonight to finish an essay anyway so might as well take advantage of it.

Try to catch it. Meteor showers are spectacular. I've actually only witnessed one, because every other has been clouded out. But it truly is amazing. It is even better if you are able to see a fireball.

A fireball is an exceptionally bright "shooting star*. It is very bright and sometimes, produces an off color, like a greenish or orangish streak. It truly is an amazing thing to see

Never seen a meteor shower. Maybe I'll watch this one.
