I was playing my Rogue on a pvp server and spotted two Alliance, a Paladin and a Hunter. Thinking i could take down them both, i sapped the Paladin first to take down the hunter. But guess what? The damn bubble took the incapacitating effect off and i ended up fighting two. Seriously, the all actions from players that are stunned or incapacitated are not able to do anything, yet the Paladin can bubble out of it. This is pretty unfair to all Horde players who wish to take down a Paladin, it is nearly impossible to do so 1 vs 1.
(I posted this in the Paladin Forum) |
Lols nerf pallies ? So you as a rogue should be able to kill 2 people at once, but when it goes wrong you wana nerf 1 of them ?
Pally shield lasts 12 seconds and try play alliance against a shaman- Pre 60 shamans are almost impossible for most classes. |
Yeah, Pallies are hard to take down. I remember I had a hell of a fight against one with my warrior. I was running out of a cave after having just killed two hunters that tried to gank me, he was apparently on his way in. First we just stopped and looked at each other for a second, then he started to cast something and I charged him. It was a bloody fight, took a good 5 minutes at least. Every time I almost had him dead, he would pop his shield and heal. I would use that time to step back and bandage. In the end he ran out of shields and burned what little mana he had left with LoH. I popped a potion, disarmed him, and put his ass in the dirt. I had just a tiny little sliver of life left. Awesome fight, and I was really surprised that I won.
That's what makes a PvP server so much fun. Unfortunately, it's usually out-weighed by rampant ganking. glyc |

Pallies are the class to play if you are a coward who likes to bubble and run and never win a fight, but never die. Here are some jokes to soothe your wounded leet ninja feelings burnzey. But be wary, as you level up you may have to hit more than 2 buttons to wtfpwn everyone as the most overpowered pvp class in the game. Quote:

And, Burn, sorry to pwn you so bad with these, but nobody likes to see the most powerful pvp class (except possibly warriors) cry. Watch these videos to their fullest. Call it a therapy session. That is kinda embarrasing when trying to gank somebody and they kill you... Realy gay lol. BTW, Plate wearers > Rogues.
And err.. The people he killed mostly were NE.. And we all know about them NE's :D |
As a rogue in PvP stick to clothies. Pallies are more hassle than their death is actually worth. Even "kicking" with the rogue ability won't stop them healing since they can just bubble out of it. They can bubble out of virtually anything including sheep, fear and stuns but excluding death coil iirc (haven't played mine in months). Counterspell and silence obviously will prevent heals and they can't cast bubbles when under these effects so leave that to the casters. I usually recruit a mage or priest to counter/silence the pally while I beat on him or simply run by him and slay the allies he's healing.
There's no point in trying to gank a plate wearer that can just become immune and heal himself when he feels like it...usually it is when you finally land a dent in their HP too. Don't feel bad, most people see pallies as an irritation as opposed to a real problem since all you need to do is run away from a paladin and he can't do much else but watch you (HoW doesn't count as viable range). With my rogue my main problem will be a good mage or hunter. |

Bubble clears all disease, poison, movement-hindering etc effects, very similar to Insignia's & WotF, not that unfair bud. Next time, sap the hunter. |
A bubble is similar to WotF? WFT? No Wai!!! WTF is nearly that over-pally-powered.
And Armageddon, you do realize that a Mage (1) killing and (2) getting ganked and surviving a fighter was something out of La-La Land until this recent patch that broke mages. Your brethren got all the benefits of simply crying the loudest on the forums. |
Personal surival is the key. If i had of left them two Alliance to grind beside me, i would have sure gotten ganked anyways. Yes, i could have just stealthed away but i wanted to finish this quest. I thought i might try sneak in a kill too if i was lucky enoughy but i was unfortunate. At least by sapping the paladin, i know i have a chance against the hunter because A.) Hunters run away and B.) they can't do bugger all melee damage. Also taking out the healer would make things easier.
One thing i hate about playing a caster is that if they are 2 - 3 levels higher than your own, there is a greater risk to being resisted. So by being resisted, you lose mana and without mana you are practicly done for. Whereas with meleers, you can hit something 10 - 20 levels higher than you, not for very high amount mind you but your still able to cause some damage. Mages and rogues i'd have to say are the best gankers. By the way, Since the new patch , the mages talents have been re-done. What should i put my mages talents into for pvp? I put in fire because i thought they nerfed frost. [ 06-27-2006, 06:01 AM: Message edited by: burnzey boi ] |
