I am a Night Elf Hunter, and I have travelled to "Big Night Elf City", as I call it. (I suck at remembering the names). I went to the Weapon's Trainer and there wasn't an option to learn swords. Is there any reason for this (I'm level 9 if it helps), or am I at the wrong person?

The sword trainer is in Stormwind.

Ah, thankyou. I've been looking all over for it. Now a long walk to Stormwind for my elven hunter

Ahh the epic trip :D . It's not a terribly long walk, I did it with my hunter at around your lvl (and my rogue) and I RPed the whole trip lol. People loved it as I did and said everything in character.

Go to Darnassus (the big elven city) then take the portal to the Ruth village. Take the hippogryphs then to Auberdine. From Auberdine take the boat to Menethil (or use the NPC if he's there) and then coninue out through the wetlands. This will be your main problem. If possible ask someone to walk with you or run behind a high lvl who is going there anyway. Keep beast tracking on while coming through here. One you get to Dun Morogh you're good as Ironforge is very close. Good luck!

From Ironforge you take the Tram to Stormwind.

Ah, I just found that out in game. Man I am running for my life when I saw a Dragonpaw Scout, or something, level 22. Only hit me 3 times and I had half health!

Luckily I am just through the mountain pass into Ironforge area I think. I should be there by tomorrow, then I can use my stone to zip back! :D

Make your home in an inn like in the village Goldshire (right out side Stormwind) this is the best place to train up your character i think ;)

Then you also have a short way to Stormwind and Ironforge for your needs!

I've just begun to play WoW and precisely with a NE hunter. I learned on another site about this trip (to Ironforge) and it's route. While the info was presented in order to bring NE hunters to a (presumably) faster leveling region, it did serve to take a tour of the region and learn of the several travelling methods you find in WoW.

I did it with a lvl 1 character, and i died several times befre i got there. Once there i found my lvl was just too low... maybe i didnt look around properly for easier quests...
Eventually i went back to my original lvl 7 NE hunter, who didnt take he trip, but it was a fun and informative experience.

There are level 1 homan and dwarve hunting zones, you just didn't find them.

Personally, I like the elven zones better, they are not as spread out.
