For those that don't know it, utopia is a text based game in which you play in a group of 25 players at most which is called a kingdom. Every player has a province. It's a war game with fantasy theme.

Is anyone playing this?

I do. Humman Merchant, heavy attacker. It'll take some time to build up the required sciences though...

philip 01-07-2005 05:07 AM

I'm human merchant attacker too OOP was a bit rough since the strat I got from my monarch was supposed to be played different than how I played mine the last 12 or 13 ages so it went wrong. Got OOP at 625 acres and 1500 def specs but nobody hit me :D I'm training off now and it looks like I can build a few libraries already so I think I'll do that Are you playing on the worlds or battlefields?

Assassin 01-07-2005 08:03 AM

Worlds. I've got to 700 in protection (started late too) but in the brief period of time where I was weak, someone hit me for 64 acres. =/ Going to explore up to 1k acres and turtle for a bit while I do a serious science pump on Tools, Housing, and Alchemy. My plan: Everyone else will be pumping mid-age, so that's when I'll do my Learn attacks.

I'm playing on the BF. BF is much harder now. We're out of top 50 on BF oop and if we would have been on WoL we would have been in top 10.

I'll keep growing for now. Now I'm exploring to 725 acres and on the way building off specs and war horses Then I'll follow the kingdom strat when to do what. Maybe I'll run some libraries anyway cause I saw some calcs that it was pretty good to do.

Assassin 01-08-2005 08:31 AM

Eh... I've never been a big fan of running libs while growing. You're saying that you're a top 50 kingdom in BF and you're only at 625 acres? I was under the impression that BF required a much higher acreage/networth to reach the top charts.

Anyways, what're your thoughts on the extremely high (in comparaison to other provs) nw/a we humans will have? We're going to need those high sciences, and the off/elite networth is higher than any other race. Which means that we're going to have a lower gains and be bottomfed more (because they'll still get a good gain).

philip 01-08-2005 12:39 PM

Nope we're not in top 50 that was a comparison between BF and WoL this age. We weren't in top 50 but on WoL we would have been top 10 LOL. We just got declared on and got waved so I'm only 650 now and training a lot of off specs cause this age exploring with a full kd won't work. We'll just let the dwarfs do that and the humans will attack.

High npa is great. The higher the npa the lower the losses you'll have. People smaller can't hit you. People your size might be able to hit you but not sure and larger will always bottomfeed anyway and get less. The best gains are on people you're networth with much more land which is low npa

edit: we weren't a top kd last age but we want back into the charts anyway

Eh? I was always under the impression that the networth based gains gave the higher gains to the lower NW/A guys...

philip 01-09-2005 06:07 AM

I can't find what Mehul said about it but the idea was that if both players have around the same networth the attacker gains more if the other is landfat. worked pretty well. With my first hit I was 70k nw and 650 acres. I hit someone of 70k on 800 acres and got 86 acres from him

Assassin 01-09-2005 08:19 AM

Sone of a gun... I was always under the impression otherwise. =/ Well, color me stupid... Anyways, I've finally explored up to 1k acres, getting ready for a serious Lib pump with 72% Libraries. Tools, Alchemy, Housing, in that order. I shouldn't have that much trouble. In about a week, I'll be good to go.

Oh yeah, and if you look at the front page, it says that the age lasts until March. Any idea why this age in particular is so short?
