I don't know about you, but I find it very frustrating when I can't 'decode' lyrics and find out what they mean. It makes me feel small and dumb. Especially when I want to find out the meanings of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' songs, as they are my favourite band.

So I was wondering if anyone knew any good websites which list lyric meanings. Or perhaps some tips as to how figure out the meanings and stuff. Some songs are just teeming with sub-meanings, metaphors and the like.

Heh, I found out that the RHCP album Blood Sugar Sex Magic all the songs are metaphor for Sex... so that one is very easy [img]smile.gif[/img]

okey thats maybe an exception, but I read that one is about Anthony Kiedes' (sp) drug addiction.

Yeah, a lot of their earlier stuff is about sex and drugs. They've moved onto lighter songs now, which I prefer. And yes, that song was about Anthony's drug addiction.

Oh, by the way (no pun intended ;) ), I found www.songmeanings.net which seems to be okay. Problem solved. In fact, it's actually quite fun because as you read meanings, you learn to do it yourself which is cool.

Some songs aren't that difficult to decode you just have to read the song lyrics as if it was a poem. You try to match the meanings of words and sentences and somehow it is put together to make a story.
