I'm no fan of MS or Windows but that's quite a lot of an exaggeration. It was roughly true for Win98 but since win 2000 the windows platform has been MUCH better and pretty stable. I've been running W2K for over 3 years and I can count the number of times it's crashed on my fingers.

Just found this review there after sifting through a "few" popups.

I don't know if you get this a lot, comments from your "Secret of Windows" series. But I just have to say a few things to you. I really despise people who will sit there and put down Microsoft that, There is nothing wrong with Windows XP. I've had Windows XP since it first came out and I can't remember the last time is crashed on me, and I'm a hard-core gamer. I'm currently a webmaster/web-designer myself, and I did technical support for a major Canadian internet provider called TELUS. And I used to hear all kinds of people complain about "problems" with there Windows OS, and I have to say, most of them were the stupidest people I have ever talked with in my life. Here they are talking as if they knew everything about computers and how Microsoft sucks, and as they keep talking, it's evident that they actually know nothing but computers at all, as if pretending to know everything about computers would give them a sense of self-respect while talking on the phone with technical support. It really pisses me off when meet people like that, I'm not going to say I know everything about computers, because I don't, and I'm 100% sure you don't either!
If your having so many problems with Windows products, try meeting the minimum system requirements! Or it could possibly be your hardware, if you haven't tried this already, build your own system from scratch (make sure you know what your doing), don't purchase crap from Staples or Radio Shack, etc... I'd never buy a system from a store in my life. If the problem persists, there's only one more thing that could be your problem, and it lies between the keyboard and your chair! I'm sorry, but it's the truth.

I agree. We've have XP for a couple of years now and it has never ever crashed or similar in that whole time. I always think if you have to exaggerate wildly to make your point, then your point mustn't really be worth making
