Coming to a town near you, somewhere during the next week. If you live in an EU memberstate that is. ;) I was just wondering who is going to vote (and what you are going to vote) and who thinks that the EU is little more then a money pitt without much of a future. Personally, I'm going to vote for the Liberals. Although I doubt they'll be among the big winners of the upcoming elections. :(

We get to vote for the European Parliament, The Mayor of London and the Local Council. I don't think I'll bother.

I expect UKIP, the UK Independence Party to perform well in a small turnout. They want to take the UK out of the EU.

And what do you want?

In the UK this is going to be a bit more of a referendum on the Labour parties performance. That will be the only thing that will get people out to vote I expect, and it will mean huge gains for the Greens and Liberals I expect. Ken will almost certainly walk the London mayor elections and Labour will probably maintain a stranglehold elsewhere but have its majority cut significantly.

I think I'm going to have to vote Labour if I bother at all. There just plain ain't any socialist candidates. Theres RESPECT - the Unity coalition (or "I'm a Celebrity - Get me Elected!" as its also known) but the politics of most of the people involved are pretty crap.

I got (had) to vote by post! Pilot schemes and all that.

I'm going to vote but I haven't fully made up my mind yet about which person will get my vote.

Do you know on which party are you going to vote?

Melusine 06-05-2004 05:46 PM

I'm considering Kathalijne Buitenweg, first on the Groen Links list but I haven't really kept up te date with European politics so I want to read a little more about the parties' stances in that respect.

Groen Links is very pro-Europe. Even more so then the other Leftish parties (rather obvious, in the case of the SP) (except maybe D66). I considered voting for Buitenweg myself for awhile. She's quite competent
