Hm.. just read a rather interesting article. According to the so called End-of-Worlders (people that believe the end of the world is at hand), mainly Christian Fundamentalists, the future EU president will be the Antichrist. (the (Jewish) leader of the New Roman Empire) So I find myself wondering, are there people here are who are into this 'Day after Tomorrow' stuff?

ROFL The end of the world is at hand.... how long has that been going on now ? Don't these people get tired of their own crap ? :D

Kakero 05-12-2004 08:35 AM

LOL, so I guess the rest of the world must muster their armies to counter this new threat?

btw, I thought the next antichrist is someone who is darker skin and come from the east.

According to the article I read, the Antichrist was supposed to be a Jew.
Though I'm sure every group has it's own theory.

Well, right before the end of apartheid, here in South Africa, there where some very detailed "proofs" going around that Nelson Mandela was the antichrist.

See how that worked out:)

These people are just trying to combine the Book of Revelation and modern international politics.

I've read some of this on the Internet and I've come to the conclusion that some of them seem to fear any authority that isn't either A) God or B) under direct control of themselves.

PS: This is very close to a religious debate. ;)

The end of the world is always nigh (near). That's a motivational tactic. If the end was thousands of years away, then why worry about it. Then people start to "backslide" (at least in their eyes). If the end is right around the corner, then it is lighting a fire under people's butts to join the "right" side (which is the side they are on, as opposed to the sides that others are on). The end has been near since humans invented religious institutions.

Does that mean david badeall will soon be the leader of europe? As long as he leaves skinner at home life will be good!

Firestormalpha 05-13-2004 12:05 PM

Unless I'm mistaken Ironbar, EU is used by many non-english speaking countries when referring the the United States.(i.e. spanish - Estados Unidos) Unless I'm completely oblivious to the recent institution of a European presidency.
