just a quick querie. I just loaded win xp pro onto this comp, and when I am on Ironworks and I scroll down it takes a while and is jerky. It kind of scrolls a little then refreshes if you get my drift, does anyone know how to fix this?

Cheers
Ross

Did you just install any big files that could slow down your computer? Did you try restarting your computer to see if it would help?

The drivers that come with XP are designed to get the thing running as stably as possible. But the performance ranges from terrible to really terrible. Go to nvidia.com and download a newer driver.

WinXp is designed to get the job done. When loading from the web it allows scroll access as quickly as a file is accessible. You have dial-up I presume, and therefore your lag is in fact net lag.

Does your machine meet the minimum requirements? If not, go back to whatever you had before, for what you have is machine lag.

Updated drivers have some to do with it, go to all of the home pages for your hardware, and do check for newer WinXp drivers. Even the newest WinXp disk with SP1 on it, is already antiquated in this era.

I have winxp with SP1 and I meet the requirements. Il download the latest drivers and see what happens.

Win XP scroll? Is it a cursed scroll? If so what kind is it?

*forgets to laugh, Ok guys, the driver is on the way, hopefully this works.

right, I downloaded the latest drivers from driverguide.com (not on nvidia since its a hercules card) and nothing happened, its still the same, is there anything else I need to download? Like Driver Bios update or anything?

If you're using a Logitech mouse, grab the latest version of Mouseware and set the scroll speed to 1 line. I think by default, Windows sets it to 3 lines.

not using Logitech mouse. Ok I have also got the newest update for my mobo, still no joy.
