.......@#$&%*#$@%!!!...I'm was trying to download some stuff, don't worry it's not illegal. I'm was just trying to download a demo. It said it was gonna take 22 hours!!! Damn dial-up connection...Is there a way to speed up the process?

Get DSL... :D

shadowspecter 03-29-2004 09:03 PM

I would get DSL...I asked them to do that before, they said yes as long as I pay for the bill...I really don't want to do that...Isn't it like $50 dollars a month?! I don't have that kind of money since I only have a part time job after school...

Just start the download before you go to bed, and hope it completes without interruptions, turn off any screen savers. Been a Long time since I had dial up, but I remember that's what I did.

or if you can, save it to a Zip disk? then install from there...

Do like what I used to do: Pass a blank CD to any friend whom has a DSL (or better) connection and ask him/her to download for you.

That's a nice advice paladin2000, why I never thought of that before?

When I am desperate for something, I usually comes up with "weird" alternative solutions. Back then I didn't have any CD-RW drive, so I simply plugged out my whole HDD and pass it on to my friend whom has a nice leased line access to the net in his office. Gosh, for two days I was without my PC... but the free game was worth every minute of it. :D

Cable all the way! :D

i thought that dsl was like 25 dollars over there in the US. well another solution is just leave it online with download manager and in case you get disconnected at least you can continue where you got cut off from before.
